Welcome to GeekMum.com, home of Movable Cafe. To be honest, I am not a geek... not even a nerd... more of a dork, actually. ;-) But I AM a mum AND grandmum, and happily so. (1 out of 2 counts, doesn't it?)  I suppose I'm the proverbial jack of all trades and master of none. Among other pursuits, I manage hosting and design blogs, photo galleries and more for my children and grandbabies, as well as an organization of 18th century Virginia historic interpreters (in which I portray a midwife).

I switched to MovableType for blogging six years ago, jumped in with both feet and never looked back. I've learned a LOT since bumbling through my first installation!

I created GeekMum {Movable Cafe} as a way to record and share my own "adventures" (and misadventures!) with MT over the past few years. This "note to self" blog serves as a way of documenting and preserving my working notes (for the sake of my overworked and underpaid brain) and as an outreach to other MT enthusiasts, including my blogging peeps. If sharing what I've learned helps you avoid having to reinvent the wheel, then I'm a happy gal. ;-)

There are no rules here -- we're trying to accomplish something.
